Decide the total before you look at a single venue.
Most wedding overspending starts with falling in love with a venue or dress before deciding what you can afford. Setting the total first makes every later decision easier.
Build the number
- What you already have saved for the wedding
- What you can save each month until the date
- What family has offered, confirmed and in writing if possible
- Add them up: that's your budget
- Keep 5% to 10% as a buffer
